The Maison

Paris precision,
Mumbai soul

Founded by Aurélien Verrelle, the maison dresses weddings, runways and red carpets from two ateliers — a Paris salon for cut and jewellery, a Mumbai workshop for embroidery — united by one obsession: clothes that outlive the occasion.

THE FOUNDER

Aurélien Verrelle began as a model, sketching between castings, before costume design for cinema pulled him behind the camera. Thirty years on he leads the maison as creative director — still first into the atelier, still last to approve a hem.

His language is recognisable at fifty paces: antique gold on deep colour, embroidery that behaves like architecture, and silhouettes that let the wearer — never the dress — enter first.

Two ateliers, one standard

Calico toiles and fabrics in the Paris atelier

Paris — cut, drape & jewels

Twelve pattern-masters and a jewellery bench above the Place Vendôme. Every silhouette is born here as a calico toile, fitted three times before it ever meets silk.

Mumbai — embroidery & finish

Two hundred embroiderers, many second-generation, working zardozi, nakshi and sequin by hand. Apprentices train for two years before touching bridal — and the maison funds their children's schooling.

WORN ON PURPOSE

Sustainability at Verrelle is construction, not marketing: natural fibres, deadstock linings, embroidery that can be unpicked and reborn, and a restoration desk that keeps thirty-year-old lehengas dancing at new weddings.
